Pelvic and Women’s Health

Our pelvic health services can address a wide array of diagnoses in the pelvic region for both males and females.

Pelvic Diagnoses and Dysfunctions that we treat include:

  • Urinary/bowel incontinence (ex: urinary leakage with sneezing, coughing, running, or jumping)
  • Pelvic floor, SI joint, tailbone, and low back pain
  • Diastasis recti
  • Pudendal neuralgia
  • Post prostatectomy complications
  • Perinatal body care
  • Labor and Delivery preparation
  • Pain with intercourse
  • Postnatal recovery
  • Body mechanics with baby care
  • Postpartum weight lifting and running progressions

Services include an initial evaluation that will determine functional and movement impairments, a plan of care specifically designed for each case, a home exercise program and a selected number of follow up sessions as needed. The initial evaluation will last up to 60 minutes. Contents of initial evaluation are discussed beforehand to ensure patient understanding and comfort level. Follow up sessions last approximately 45-60 minutes. As treatment is individualized for each person, the total estimated cost varies as well. Follow up sessions can vary in cost depending on tools and devices used. These tools and devices are optional, but are highly recommended to achieve goals effectively. Inclusion of these items are discussed prior to each session and can be added at any time.

We also have a special emphasis in women’s health which can assist with preparing your body for pregnancy, labor and delivery to recovery and beyond. Whether you are experiencing pains due to a growing baby, preparing for delivery, wanting optimal recovery or looking for postpartum activity guidance such as running, working out or proper body mechanics while caring for your new little one, this program helps you get to your goals. The programs are individualized for each woman depending on your lifestyle and physical needs no matter how far prenatal or postpartum. If present condition is a concern for formal physical therapy skills, a physician’s referral is needed.
