Trigger Point Dry Needling

Trigger Point Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a unique technique using a thin monofilament needle to release trigger points(knots) in your muscles to improve pain, mobility, and overall function. It can be used on many different injuries and diagnoses to improve a person’s ability to stay active and healthy. Dry Needling is a safe and effective way to treat your pain with the goal of keeping you Active while Recovering.

Dry needling is NOT acupuncture, an eastern medicine based technique that involves altering the “flow of energy” for the treatment of disease and ailments. Rather, dry needling is a modern, science-based intervention for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. As a research based treatment it has shown to be an effective adjunct treatment for such conditions as:

  • Neck and Back Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Shin Splints
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Headaches
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Shoulder Impingement
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Cervical and Lumbar Radiculopathy (neck/back pain related to nerves)
  • Muscle Strains
  • Sports Related injuries

Dry needling will often be used alongside other treatments, such as manual therapy and exercise, to help restore and maintain mobility, reduce pain and put a client back on track toward a life of improved function.
